When you start to do scary things, they get a little less scary each time. generally speaking, the first time you do something, is the scariest it will ever be. So keep that in mind - it does get easier. BTW, my undergrad degree is in Archaeology/anthropology. It’s pretty funny people acting like that’s more practical than Latin. It’s rather less practical! - at least you could work as a Latin tutor or teach high school Latin, if you wanted to. There isn’t much call for archaeology tutoring. And you have to post here that you have actually done it-with enough detail that we know you really did it. No excuses will be accepted. No lying. No whining. Get your ass up and out of the goddamn house. Show us you’re trying. Earn some self respect. Deal? ---

Dammit **PSXer** , stop being a pussy. The energy you put forth here would serve you well in the real world. In that other ‘I’m so pathetic what should I do’ thread I wished we were in the Pit so we could speak honestly. Here we are and I simply want to tell you that you have more control over your life than you realize. I am not sure if the troll label should be applied to you or whether you are just fucking around for attention with these pathetic threads. You write well. You are not a dummy. In your posts you are basically writing the answers to what you need to do. So do it. Seriously, a similar amount of effort and energy are needed to get the fuck up and take charge of yourself as that needed to deal with your current situation. A male role model would be good for you. Somebody who would support you by speaking to you as a man, a person who would tell you to quit beating up on yourself and tell you to get in motion. Hang around with guys. You will eventually meet men you look up to, who will be a positive influence on you. Someone once said to me, “surround yourself with the kind of people you want to be like.” That was and is excellent advice. ---

[BigT got pitted](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=591791&highlight=BigT) for this very behavior a few months back. And being a gutless weasel, [he dropped in to say that he wouldn’t even read the thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13330336&postcount=60) because , “…I cannot take the risk that I would hold grudges against any of you.” He was primo Rapture material. You know – a self righteous prick, and it’s almost sad the Rapture didn’t happen because we’d be rid of him. But, to avoid further hijacking this Pitting, I’m gonna revive the old one of BigT. ---
