Anybody else feel it’s…well…a bit less than apt that the Straight Dope site is displaying an advertivement for a psychic? Not three inches from their claim to be fighting ignorance? No wonder it’s taking so long. ---

Ok. Apparently there’s a different one every time you log on. And I don’t know how this works, maybe Straight Dope has no control over what comes up. Still…this time I got one for horoscopes. ---

Hey!! I got it. I kept refreshing on the main page until it came up. I decided to go ahead and click on it (Might as well give the Reader some click-through advertising revenue) Wow! The things they can answer- -Will I get a raise? -Will I find my soulmate? -Will I travel this year? :: I’m _getting_ excited!! :: Yeah! I wanna know! NOW! I click again. I get some funky looking babe in a… coin operated pyschic machine? Oh well. Now it says- -Learn what your future holds. -Are your planets aligned for YOU? I can’t wait!! Click again. Time to submit my personal information… :: Shouldn’t they know this allready? :: Oh well… Name- Asshole blah, blah, blah. Finally finish to get a message saying- “Asshole is currently being used. Pick from the following: Asshole 128, etc., etc.,” 128 people have allready chosen Asshole? O.K. Finally get to the meat… What a let-down. I want to see if the planets are aligned with ME. Nothing. C’mon!! I want to travel! I want to find my soulmate!! Nada. I did find out that Asshole 001 has been on line for over 40 hours, however. I’ll check with him and get back to ya. ---
