[Link to the Congressional Research Service document on the status of Puerto Rico, just updated to show the latest result](http://www.crs.gov/Reports/pdf/R44721?source=search&guid=3666e5663ec04fd48d8538002d6339ec&index=2)(PDF). This is the officially nonpartisan document that the MoC’s are supposed to look up if they don’t know about it. But like Hell they do.
