Puffed Rice - how to ?

Cracked wheat is coarsely ground whole wheat or wheat with the husk stripped off. I don’t think you can make much with it alone; most recipes blend it with ground flour to provide a denser, crunchy texture.

At a guess, puffed rice is packaged immediately; Rice Crispies are baked before packaging. The other thing that makes cereal crunchy - and the only thing that will keep it crunchy over time, especially after the package is opened - is sugar. You’d have to compare some brands of puffed rice and crispy rice to see if there is significant added sugar or calories. It can be hard information to pin down.
