Blarrgh! What is that?! Instead of a mix of a pug-like animal that resembles an actual dog, we end up getting what looks like a deformed Husky. The real victim here was the poor Husky that was forced to breed with the pug. ☹ ---

I had pugs for many years. No breed does happy like a pug. Their whole face splits into a goofy smile. The AKC description calls for a dog that acts like a big dog in a small dog’s body. ---

In the interest of any casual ignorance here, the pug is not just a dog, but one of the oldest breeds of dogs [(source: AKC)](http://www.akc.org/breeds/pug/did_you_know.cfm). The closest canine relative to the pug is the [mastiff](http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/mastiff.htm), which no one can deny is a most dogly dog. You can see how that could be bred down into a tiny puggish package. Living with a pug is like living with a midget clown who always wants to perform. ---
