Took Simi down to the trail for a loose leash walk early this morning. We did three miles and he was very good, ignoring the few other dogs/walkers we saw. We returned to the parking lot which is a takeout for kayaks coming down the Kiskiminetas River. A woman flagged us down, asking for help with her kayak. I put Simi in my Jeep and walked over. I grabbed the bow of her boat and waited for her to grab the stern. She just stood there, watching me. I said. “OK, grab the other end”. She pouted like a 3 year old and said, “my boyfriend always puts it on my car by himself”. I was tired and hungry, so I replied, “I’m not your boyfriend” and walked away while she yelled, “hey, come back”. I did not. ---

I had a big reminder on not to eat ice cream for dessert after dinner, as it gives me acid reflux at night. Last night, about an hour after lights out, I woke up to the excruciating pain of stomach acid right in my vocal chords. I had to get up and spit/rinse it out. Adding to the misery is that I take some fish oil capsules right before bed (opthalmologist’s orders), and that came up too. I felt like I had been licking out an old bait can combined with battery acid. I took a Pepcid Complete and had to sit in an upright chair for an hour or two to let the pain and acid subside before returning to bed. Then I got up early and ate a bit of cream of wheat, which is a great acid-settler for me. And it was only a mini-bar of Haagen Dazs ice cream that I ate last night! There can’t be more than 1/4 cup of ice cream in one of those. ---

Dry, no milk, straight outta the box. Barely chewed, washed down with a 🤬ton of water. Somehow, the bran/water blend absorbs bad things without triggering the “Ope, we gotta hit the Reverse Button!” button. ---

Agreed. I am wondering if I’ve been putting up with behavior I don’t deserve as a way of distracting myself from my sons passing. I do realize the main mistake I’ve made (too many times) is to pursue the man. That never works, at least for me. Not in a hurry, either. ---

Grrrr. My husband tested positive for Covid on Tuesday. I was having milder symptoms myself, so did tests on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday that were all negative. Skipped yesterday, since I thought I was feeling better. Woke up feeling horrible today, and bingo. Positive test of my own. ---

I assume you and your husband are both fully vaccinated. In which case, feeling crappy is going to be about the worst of it (but @BippityBoppityBoo has good advice, as usual). By this point I think possibly more people I know have tested positive for COVID than not, but since everyone is vaccinated and boosted it’s no big deal. ---

Turns out that Paxlovid has significant interaction issues with atorvastatin (Lipitor), which I do take, sayeth [drugs.com](http://drugs.com). I think I’d better hold off on pursuing that until I can consult my doctor. @wolfpup, DH is not vaccinated, I am fully vaccinated/boosted. ---

Sounds reasonable~didn’t know what meds, etc were in your situation. If I had stayed at home when I first saw the problem, I might have tried that (although I’m not terribly handy). However, I was in a parking lot and needed to get towed (AAA), so figured I would just get it to the dealer. Not terrible (I was fearing $1000), so probably the right choice. ---
