There was a kids TV show about pirates from the 70s called Captain Pugwash (cardboard cutout animation). Supposedly…_ **supposedly** _… it included character names such as Master Bates, Seaman Staines, Simon the Bar Steward and Roger the Cabin Boy. (Pretty sure it was a gag created by a writer, but let’s not spoil a good story). ---

DC has quite a few. Often really bad ones. Sinestro. Victor Fries, aka Mister Freeze. N. Dowd, aka The Mighty Endowed (with giant hypnotic breasts, of all things). Estrogina, the female space pirate. The daughter of the supervillain Mongul is named Mon_gal._ Atrocitus, leader of the rage-powered Red Lanterns. ---

I saw this character listed somewhere as the largest breasted female comic book character. I would have to actually own the comic book she appeared in to believe they ever created a character like this. ---

I can’t believe I didn’t come up with this earlier, especially considering his prominence in the _Supergirl_ TV series. The Martian Manhunter, aka J’onn J’onzz. His name is phonetically similar to the human name John Jones, which is a perfect name to use when you’re impersonating someone, as J’onn did when masquerading as a human in the comics.
