Wow, great advice everyone. You are all probably right. A big dog isn’t that much different than a bigger dog. I did talk to a woman today who breeds Labs for dog shows. She said a male lab usually weighs around 85 pounds, so the one I saw IS exceptionally big. And my dad’s got smallish female as well. No telling where my Angus will turn up.
I’m going to give it some thought. I have a friend who SWEARS by Jack Russel’s, so he’s trying to convince me to get another type of dog entirely. Also, my dad will breed Maggie one more time. So there’s a chance I could have a female next year. Hmm…lots to think about.
But I still love Angus!

I’d say go for it. The next time your car gets stuck in the snow, you could just go, “Angus! Fetch!”.
And OFF it goes, to the master band list
Ok - you’ve already named him. He’s yours. Go bring him home. You know you want to. Go for it. You said it yourself, he’s yours. Dogs (and other pets) are funny things, in that when you see the one you REALLY want, thats it. It’s the one you have to get. When we went to get a new dog after the first one died, my sister (it was really her dog) went to see the available puppies at the breeders, and came home so uncertain. After all, it had only been 2 days since the death of the first dog. But she talked about the puppy all night and next morning, til finally my mom took her back to the breeder and said “take him already”. So that’s how we got the “shit disturber” - he weighs in at about 90lbs and sheds like a - well, like a Golden Retriever, which is what he is.
But the point is, sis KNEW she wanted that puppy when she saw him (even though there were others to choose from) in the same way she knew she wanted our first dog.
You know you want this one.
Go bring Angus home!!
