Today on Straightdope: 1. I posted a song lyric in movie quotes. 2. I didn’t use the last line of a Haiku as my first. (_fixed in edit, thankfully_) 3. I totally missed the latest post in another thread because I forgot to look at the last page. Obviously I need to wait until the kitten goes to sleep before I try to post. Constantly having to jump up and yell, “DON’T CLIMB THE BLINDS” is a huge distraction. Now, instead of climbing the blinds, the kitten is trying to launch himself from an upturned suitcase. He has been determined to touch the ceiling ever since I brought him home. And there is NOTHING up there but white paint. Not a dot, a hole, a bug, a shadow…nothing. ---

My Bulldog hated to eat alone. She would grab a mouthful of food and bring it to whatever room I as in. If I scolded her, she would drop the food and not eat it. If I said nothing, she would eat every last crumb. It took me awhile, but I learned not to scold her. If I stayed in the kitchen (where I fed her), she would eat too fast because she was at the buffet. And she would vomit. I learned to leave the kitchen because then she didn’t eat as fast. I think she was training me. I miss my bulldog. ---
