Have you tried answering her?
She might be calling for you. She doesn’t need to do that when you’re in the room with her, because you’re in the room with her. But if you’re not in the room with her, she might want to know where you are.
(Or, of course, it might be something else altogether.)
Oh, yeah, I answer her all the time. If she feels like it, she will come to me. And say nothing. If I go to her to see what’s up, she says nothing. So she knows I can hear her. She just refuses to speak in my presence.
When you answer her, does she stop meowing?
Not until we are in the same space or she finishes whatever it was she was complaining/rejoicing about. She does this especially after I go to bed and she gives the doorway in the hall a good talking-to. I call for her to come to bed which she will do after she has had her say. She’s just weird.
