What kind of childhood trauma on EARTH could have caused you to HATE butterflies? Did a butterfly shoot your Pa? šŸ˜‰ Really, I must know. Good grief Purse! What are you doing up so early on a sunday? oh yeah, got kids huh? _LOL_ Youā€™re butterfly story left me not quite fulfilled. I think we need to beef it up some. How about, ā€œYour mother looked in on you and streaming in through your window were thousands of butterflies, and pulsating caterpillers covering you. The butterflies were trying to peck your eyes out and lay eggs in your hair to make you go crazy and the caterpillers where weaving a cocoon around you!ā€ Yeahā€¦ thats much better. Thats how you should tell it from now on methinks. šŸ˜ƒ ---

a most excellent story **Persephone** and illustrates nicely one of my pet theories - children are **not** miniature adults, they do \*\*not \*\* see and process information the same way. when my hunk-o-hunk of teenager (and **Persephone** will back me on this, sheā€™s seen his pic) was a little tyke, I would have to constantly work around the child view issues. For example, when is idiotic father took him to the lake w/o sunscreen and was brought home beet red from sun burn (2 years old), Ben wouldnā€™t let me put anything on the sunburn 'cause it hurt, and my assurances that the spray or whatever wouldnā€™t hurt him were useless - until I said ā€œthis stuff will spank the sunburn for hurting you. bad sunburnā€¦ā€ It worked. We used to also throw his temper into unsuspecting strangers trunks on our way into the store. So, it makes perfect sense to me that butterflies became an issue this way. ---

Itā€™s okay for **Whammo** to call me Pursephone, but only because he doesnā€™t get mad whenever I call him a freak or make fun of his cornchip feet. We have an understanding. šŸ˜ƒ **wring:** Youā€™re right about the kids not processing info the same way deal. My daughter can see things in other things that never occurred to me. I remember an old [sub]Gallagher[/sub] routine where he was talking about his child, and he said it was like seeing the world with ā€œnew eyes.ā€ Itā€™s like that with my kids, especially my daughter. Her imagination is amazing! FWIW, Iā€™m not actually _scared_ of butterflies. I just have a rather intense dislike for them. Kinda like Celine Dion. I mean, I understand thereā€™s a reason for her existence, but if her music starts playing, and thereā€™s an opportunity to me to get away from it, I will take it. If not, Iā€™ll just grit my teeth until it goes away. šŸ˜ƒ
