Oh, and this entire truncated two seasons was all worth it just to hear Jim Dale say, “Oh, HELL no!” Ellen Greene broke my heart tonight. I would seriously watch that woman read the phone book, as long as she got to sing between pages. And now we know just WHERE Couer d’Couer is in relation to the city the Pie Hole is in. “131 miles to the north” ---

So was the gag that none of the Norwegians looked the part? One guy was black, the girl had dark hair, and the white guy had red hair. ---

What did you think of the revelation that Ned had, in fact, looked at Olive “that way”? Makes me wonder what direction the show will ultimately take. I’ve also been wondering what the significance of Eugene Mulchandani in the intro scenes is going to be, if anything. He’s come up numerous times but never in the present day narrative, only in Ned’s prep school memories. Maybe I’m reading too much into it. ---

Emerson’s arch-rival was named Magnus. Magnus, P.I. And “Mother” was indeed a MILF (Mobile Investigative Lab Facility)! On the Norwegian team’s billboard, their slogan was: Skubbe Du? Do you hustle? We do! And Emerson’s billboard, which looked like paper money, had the slogan: In Cod We Trust ---

So I had some crazy idle speculation about where the series is headed…pertaining to the masked man at the end of the episode… So, did you notice how the masked man, Ned’s Dad, was wearing gloves to rescue them? What if he had a good reason for staying far away from Ned? What if…gasp…it’s an inherited talent? Just some pie for thought! 😃 ---

A-hem. Please forgive me the following indiscretion; _Epic Fucking Win._. - Confirming Mobile Investigative Lab Facility [MILF] - Magnus Olsdatter, Nils Nilsen and Hedda Lillehammer. - Slogan “Skubbe Du?” (“Do you push?”) - Good accents! (Hedda was the worst, and even hers was passable as regional! Though her russian background showed up here and there.) - Ninja Swedish Distraction by Olive! - Thor Bjørkelund! (And a bonus paper-clip reference!) - Olive is Norwegian! Ha-HAH! - Olive in a Norwegian Flag Jacket is worth an additional bullet point! - Norwegians from the land of Norwegia! (Norwegia being a big cheese brand, over here, and considering how up on cheeses the production team must’ve been after the Vivian/Lily household, I bet that wasn’t accidental.) “Magnus Olsdatter” is a good choice, of course. Magnus, P.I. as remarked upon earlier. And his surname would be “Olsdaughter” - which wouldn’t raise an eyebrow in Norway _now_, but was traditionally changed for men not long ago. He was played by Orlando Jones, of course. The black american having the best Norwegian accent was quite funny. I got a real kick from seeing Ivana Milicevic again, of course. (She was on the other really geeky show I watch, Chuck, a few weeks ago.) Her first name is a kick (and kickback) to Ibsen’s _Hedda Gabler_. Her last name Lillehammer is a place-name. (Lit.: “Littlehammer”) Nils Nilsen (Michael Weaver) was great, but what’s with bringing in the entire “Chuck” crew? 😛 (For those up to date on Chuck, he played the jock in the episode "Chuck vs. The Cougars, at the Stanford Reunion. Not long ago.) Good accent, though he played it more like an Austrian than Norwegian. Man, Norway haven’t had this much suspect PR since the Oslo treaty. 😛 (Though the real kicker for me was how nationalistic we all appeared in the Land of Flags. The total absence of blue eyes, blonde hair and axes was fun, as well.) ---

Olive had a lot of great lines in this episode: “I don’t need protection! That’s what I have several long-standing Restraining Orders for!” “If you want to enlist a crack team of P.I.s from the land of Norwegia, you go girl!” Nils: “The DNA analysis that I performed on your hair told us everything we need to know!” Olive: “Oh- I was under the impression that penicillin would clear that up!” A couple of things I didn’t understand- why did Ned suddenly swerve off the road while driving Mother? And why did Chuck act so upset when Ned decided no more touching dead things? ---

And she feels like her tricking him into permanently undeading her father is what ruined it for him. ---
