My husband sometimes has me dress like a total slut when we go to church. I guess it can be fun to dress totally inappropriately. It does distract people though, especially if you sit on an aisle. ---

you know, this reminds me of those Catholic school girl uniforms. We have one of the highest percentage of them here and let me tell you, when I’m coming back from college there’s a gaggle of 15, 16 and 17 year old girls in mid thigh skirts waiting for the bus with me, I feel like a dirty old man (at 26). Makes me wonder what the HECK those schools were thinking when they chose a uniform like that? Anyway if this is their approved uniform for jailbait girls, what chance do normal people have attending church decently dressed? ---

The last time I attended church regularly was in the mid-1970s, at my parents’ firm request, as a teenager. In those days, the teenaged girls dressed exclusively in tee-shirts and tight bell-bottomed jeans…skirts and dresses were rarely seen on school days. But on Sunday, Mom would say “get dressed up for church!” so they would have to go to the closet and get out those old mini-dresses from 1971 that they’d outgrown when they were 14. I still remember the two Judies…one tall and dark, the other shorter and blonde…who seemed to have about fifteen miles of leg between them… ---

Going “sky-clad” means just that, clad only in the sky; ie; nude. Tho it does depend on which group your in. Not all groups practice this. 🙂 ---

And, as my Horny Guy nature is stronger, the Puritan remained in control only long enough type in the title. After that it was as much admiration for these pretty ladies as it was a lament on the ease with which I am distracted. Not even tempted; I have no intentions to sleep with any of these women. More a recognition that “Damn, she fine!” If these women are being victimized by my attention then I can probably be accused of blaming the victims for my own limitations. On the other hand, if they don’t mind me stealing a glance at what they are showing off, then I don’t REALLY have many complaints. ---

lioncloth? my church is very conservative. there are rules for everything including how to dress in church as well as outside of it. you may put on a tank top with your skirt but as soon as you go inside that church door there better be a sweater or jacket over it. a very helpful person will provide one if you forgot. if you are a married woman there should be covering of some type on your head. a very helpful person will find a scarf for you if you forgot. you’ll remember next time! one member of our church asked the priest what he thought of women wearing pants in church. wasn’t it horrible? he answered, i would rather see a woman in pants than in a mini skirt with her duppa hanging out. shorts have never been discussed yet. only little boys under 10 wear them in church. i know when there is a visitor in our church from the “vacuum effect” when they walk in. GASP!!! ---

Variant of “dupa,” meaning the human posterior. Common in the Northeastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania area. I assume that **rocking chair** is a native of the environs of Cleveland or Pittsburgh. ---

yep, duppa = tushie. the priest in the quote was from up-state pa, coal region. after reading ukulele ike’s post i thought of where i would hear people use that word. i heard it in church and from my mum’s siblings. all the people are of slavic descent. the areas that ukulele ike mentioned have a large slavic population. i’m from philly and usually use tush or tukas to describe the area in question. ---
