Is there a way to view NEW threads and replies to the SDMB without leaving the site and coming back again? If I spend an hour at the site, I find myself constantly entering the site, leaving the site, getting rid of my SDMB cookie and returning in order to see the updates. Is there an easier way? If I just sit here and stare at a thread will it display a new response when one is given?

I guess I’ve just answered that one on my own.

Why were you doing all that again? Your cookie should be invisible to posting, so what would make you delete it?

When I visit this site, there is a display at the top of the message board showing the current time of my arrival. If I show up at 12:00pm, that specific arrival time remains displayed even if it is now 1:00pm. If I do the above prodedure, I usually see updates to the posts that I did not see before leaving the board.

Similiarly, I logged in to post the above post, but when I went back to view the thread titles and number of posts in the menu, my post was not counted or displayed. If I leave this site and return, my post will show up in the menu.

Thanks. I’ll give that a try.
