# Q about the "Views" counter

Let’s say I see a spanking new un-posted-to thread. It has one view. I look at it and when I go back to the forum index, it still says one.
Why doesn’t it say two?

I have a feeling the latest version of vbulletin doesn’t update the views stat very often. A thread can have one view for 10 minutes then on the 11th minute it has 57 views.

There is a setting in this version of VBulletin to only update the views every hour. It saves on server CPU.
