Hi all. I’m new here, as you may have guessed from the thread title and I just have to ask a question. Now don’t feel dejected if you can’t answer, because NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW THIS. In 1960 we visited the deepest part of the ocean. What is the name of this place and for how long did we visit? Did we ever go back? I look forward to a lengthy discussion on this topic 🙂 ---

I had egg on my face once. In 1960. For about 20 minutes. Don’t run the new guy off, y’all! He’s just trying to fit in. **Panjandrum** , in-jokes get very mixed reactions on the SDMB. Some people love them, some hate them with a burning rage. Most of us use them from time to time and then let them go. So, don’t be dismayed by the reaction to this thread. Welcome to the Dope!
