What body of water does Route 1 cross when in Bath, ME? My road map doesn’t say and this waterbody was not identified on the bridge itself. Is this a river flowing out to the ocean, or an inlet of the sea creeping inward to the land?

I think you’re talking about the Kennebec River, though at the point where Route 1 crosses, I believe it’s tidal and tolerably salty.
