# Q-tip eargasm cautionary

I made this a separate thread because I didn’t want it to get buried and ignored.

Some of you know that I spent a little time in the hospital ER this weekend for a very bad ear infection. These are somewhat chronic with me due to my diabetes, and I usually am very careful. However, after reading the thread on the Q-tip orgasm, I found myself…trying it out, a bit more than I should have (because the left ear just felt soooooooo good. 🙂 )

Anyways, the result was a very fast, very bad ear infection that has ruptured my left eardrum (again). Although I am somewhat embarrassed about telling how it came about, I surmised that many others were probably trying the same thing out, and I just wanted to sound a caution.

Please be careful with your ears. If you have persistent soreness, or sharp pain, or the pain spreads to your jaw and neck - please see a doctor to get checked out ASAP. A ruptured eardrum, while it will heal, is **extremely painful**! And these infections can spread into the bone in rare cases, leading to a life-threatening condition.

I did make mention that the insertion of Q-tips into the ear canal was expressly discouraged buy the producers.
