Is it safe to assume my shock absorbers AND springs (both original equipment) would have the same life expectancy? In other words, if the shocks need repleacing, should I plan to change out the springs at the same time? (Also, likewise, what about my struts, if any, on a '93 Ford Escort Wagon?) If you’re familiar with the '93 Escort Wagon, what’s the minimum I should expect to pay for all this - parts only? - Jinx ---

Springs last longer than struts. 50 or 60,000 miles is a rough estimate for strut life. Keep in mind that if your car rides rough over bumps or sits low you must replace the springs to fix it. The shocks/struts only help control the suspension. They don’t hold your car up. ---
