[/QUOTE] Though I like you HD/Fet, and in fact can say that if I’d allowed one of my sons to live I’d like to think they’d have grown up similar to you, I have to take issues with the PSA thing. While I quite agree that saying “I’ve proudly given $30 to Bricker to get that third nipple removed while his utilities are turned off and the new Eric Estrada & Larry Wilcox tour of _Rent_ is in town” is gauche and that “true charity is anonymous”, as QED points out the “taken care of” thing is needed when Dopers are asking for sponsors. (One Doper I won’t name got embarassed because he had his membership paid for about 4 _years_ because of multiple sponsors.) As for the anonymity of giving, I’ve given to various threads and Dopers and _never_ made it known (and don’t even like doing so here where I don’t give details) and so have others. When my mother died Dopers collected almost $1,000 in donations to cancer charities- most never sought or received recognition- and the same was true for various other things that I won’t go into with other Dopers. We’re really not all waving “Kiss Us: We Gave!” banners. ---

**Sampiro** , I couldn’t help but smile at the image of a little gay spermlet in Alabama growing up to be just like me, horrifying as the concept is to some of our friends here at the Straight Dope. The imagery of triple-nippled **Bricker** begging for a ticket to _Rent_ while facing eviction is also classic, and suitably ironic. I might note that I have actually apologized for the PSA thing twice in this thread so far. Your point is well taken, and presented with a heartwarming story to boot. ---
