I’d guess he dislikes Noam Chomsky because people he likes dislike Noam Chomsky, and his understanding of the motives of Noam Chomsky (and, for that matter, the people who dislike him) is childish and superficial, at best. ---

I dislike Noam Chomsky in his role as a linguist. I wasn’t aware that he even had a role as a presidential aspirant. ---

Fake conservative. Not that I buy it; American conservatism at this point is pretty much a diagnosis instead of a political position. No position is too stupid, too irrational, or too nasty for conservatives. ---

There was a recent thread on what would one propose as the best hypothetical new ruler of America, that if we had to choose a philosopher king and one of the names that came up was Noam Chomski. That hypothetical thread was inspired for sure by the situation that Greece and Italy have now and it is likely the one that got Qin to, perhaps, lose his mask. Personally, my choice would be like the ones made over there, in Greece they choose an economist that studied under a Nobel laureate teacher, so over here I would go one better and get a Nobel price winner: Paul Krugman. ---

I love Krugman, but he may actually be too humble to be a head of government. If I were to become dictator, though, I’d hire him on as an advisor of some kind. ---

Why would it be odd for a conservative to revile Chomsky? I don’t see this as a choice to “destroy America” any more ridiculous than any number of other choices in that thread. ---

But why Chomsky in particular? Is he just the only anarchist-type Qin knows of with enough reputation to be taken seriously? I mean, really, he’s a\* linguist.\* Then again, as a fan of both Oscar Wilde and Fang the Unwashed, I am hardly afraid of mild-mannered anarcho-syndicalists, if that’s what Chomsky is. ---
