Hey there **j66** - I think I survived (but it was a close call, to be sure). What’s more, the same subject is in GD (I think…mixing forums at this point) and I may have pissed off some anti-choice folks there. Sorry! I love going into the Pit and posting something rational, sweet and fluffy like a kitten…it generally kills the thread immediately. 😉 ---

**Maureen** - yes indeed! Now, the odd thing is…I have killed both the Pit and GD threads. So this would lead me to conclude that: A) my comments were so brilliant that they can’t be disputed, OR B) We have a brief time-out while those that don’t agree with me load their shotguns. :eek: ---

Right after you yell **“STRAWMAN!”** remember to start picking at the posters typos, grammar and general use of the language. This is a must… because we all know that NO one who has a serious oipinion ever makes a typo.😃 Heres a topic: “I’ll turn my A?C down in 100 degree weather Mr Governor soon as you PROVE to me you’re sweating up there in that big ole mansion!” On second thought I think that one would go straight to the pit without even passing Go! ---

Certainly not for **profit** ('less you count the imaginary donuts we eat to bolster our courage!) The **Indiana Jones** image was sorta thrust on me the first time we went into **GD** with **Blonde** as the Kate Capshaw character! :D:D:D:D Anyway, I sorta innocently found myself in **Great Debates** after replying to a no smoking thread in **New Posts** , and it all went downhill from there. 😃 I am currently in training (“Rocky-Style”) for another outing. Okay, got one: If You’re HIV+, as your Caregiver I have a right to know, HIPAA [http://www.acog.org/from\_home/departments/dept\_notice.cfm?recno=19&bulletin=1764](http://www.acog.org/from_home/departments/dept_notice.cfm?recno=19&bulletin=1764) be damned! The argument from my point of view would be that I have had several “needle sticks” from attempting to draw blood (in my capacity as a respiratory therapist) from someone I treat . I don’t like going through the repeated testing involved to find out if I might have been infected, so it would help if I had some prior knowledge that I was treating an HIV patient, just in case he/she becomes unmanageable and the needle I use goes into me after it has entered the patient’s blood vessel. I work in an ER setting and we also get spit at a lot as well, which is why we always _should_ (but rarely **do** ) use what is termed “Universal Precautions” (gowns, gloves and face shields). All that gear is _hot_\* and we can’t always get it on us in time. _HIPAA_ is a “patient confidentiality” protective measure, which you may or may not have enountered already. So whatcha’ll think? Hmmm. Maybe it’s just me, but I think 99% would say of course you deserve to know as a Caregiver. Perhaps you should go with a topic that divides the masses (As in: are cats or dogs smarter? Do small towns or large cities produce the most intelligent people? Is it better to be rich or happy?) Those are all really ignorant examples, but you catch my drift. We’ll be right behind you! ---
