But not _that_ bad because, based on the pics he’s one of the more grotesque specimens I have ever seen. I for the life of me can not figure out why guys with long stringy masses of thin wilty hair think that it’s a good look for them. The commercials for this ep had a brief “after” shot in them so I’m a bit spoiled but I’m still looking forward to it. I am also starting a pool on how many minutes into the ep we will get before Carson either comments on or actually touches George’s hole. His bullet hole. I say seven minutes. ---

I just caught the end, but my favorite bit was when it was, erm, obvious that the girl was a bit chilly in his bedroom and one of the Five said that it was cold in there and Carson said that “There must be some Toros in the atmosphere.” I think Carson’s growing on me. ---

I thought this was one of the best ones I’ve seen. Because the guy didn’t need some superficial touches like a new outfit. He needed a complete overhaul. But he was cool with it and totally bought into the program and, unlike last week’s Tough Cop, he was really comfortable around the Fab Five. That said, man, next week’s “teaching the guy to dance” is cracking me up already. ---

That was a very good episode. I thought it was really touching - he was clearly emotional when he had to say good-bye to the Fab 5. And he seemed like a caring guy, especially towards his Mom. (and I mean notwithstanding the “taking a bullet for her” :eek: ). Plus, they did do a good job for him. ---

Well, I was impressed by George’s openness to the Fab 5 and his being comfortable around them, even with Carson’s single entendres. I don’t want to talk smack about the guy, seeing how he took a bullet for his mother. But watching his interaction with her, I got the feeling that even if the gunshot incident had never happened he’d still be living with Mom–I got the feeling he’s a total mama’s boy and that no girlfriend is ever going to be able to make him as happy as his mom does. If he ever finds a wife, it will probably be a woman that his mother has picked out for him to marry. I liked the outfits and the decor much better this time (actually, I hated the decor, but it fit perfectly with George’s taste, so it was a success on those terms). ---

George genuinely seemed like a nice guy. He was quite the mama’s boy but I don’t think his mother would have it any other way. [b/Favorite lines\*\* “I made five new friends today.” - George on the Queers “Who does he think he is? You?” - Thom to Carson when George puts on the belt _over_ the belt loops. When he was serving the lamb and asparagus I wished I had the power to pass him a pair of serving tongs through my television. I found this episode to be a little boring but George was one of the nicest guys on the show and I’ll watch the repeat Tuesday at 8. ---

This was my favorite episode so far. More than any other project so far, George seemed to appreciate what was given to him. And he performed beautifully during the party. This was truly a remarkable makeover. If he doesn’t hook up with that one woman, then it’s his own fault. She was throwing herself at him. “He’s HOT!” she said over and over. When someone asked him how the Fab 5 were and he said “I made five new friends,” I believed him. I think he’ll do okay. ---

I think it’s because there wasn’t the huge **thing** that the SG was getting ready for, resulting in the automatic tension of “what if I screw up???” George was having a BBQ for his mom and friends… it wouldn’t be such a big deal if something went wrong. But he was a genuinely nice guy, and clearly became attached to the Fab 5, so it was still a good ep to see. _Definitely_ a momma’s boy. He has no clue how to respond to girls… notice the saleswomen checking him out, or the woman practically groping herself on his bed, and he’s just off in his own little world of mirrors and tweaking his hair (btw, that reminds me- just before the grand entrance at the BBQ, was anyone else screaming “leave it the hell alone!!!”?). Loved the Toros ref. Such cultured gentlemen they are. 😃 ---

I wish someone would buy me $500 worth of lamb and set me up with a brand-new grill. And he got new pots and pans. Damn. I hated what Thom did in the bedroom with the beach sunset mural, but George liked it so I suppose we can call it a success. Did George say he was in a relationship for 5 years and had recently broken up with the woman? I had a friend over and we were yammering through some of the exposition. I thought George looked like the love child of James Le Gros and Alexis Arquette. He was more pretty than handsome, even after the haircut. ---

Grossest line: “I have a [semen] couch too…” If he weren’t on TV, Carson’s comments to straight men would make him a candlelight vigil looking for a place to happen. We need to, as concerned citizens, officially write Jai’s job description and send it into them. I’m sorry, but “when you meet a girl don’t slump” and “make eye contact” just don’t earn a paycheck. Unfortunately he doesn’t strike me as educated enough to really be “culture guy” (it’d be a cool job for a cute nerdy intellectual) in the literal definition and probably not every guy needs dance lessons, but he’s cute in a skinny way and already under contract so we need to think of something for him to do while his big brothers are getting the glory. My suggestion: yoga instruction or choosing art. ---

If Ted weren’t already doing Food and Beverage, I think he’d do very well as the culture maven. If I lived in NYC, I’d be auditioning for the job of Culture Guy, if only to get next to Kyan (MMMMM, Kyan!) I’d be doing high culture and low, Stephen Sondheim and Marcel Proust one minute and then John Mayer and Will Self the next.
