I’m a bit surprised that Kyan didn’t plug those tooth-whitening things and take Pasty Boy to an instant tanning place. I’m sure that somewhere in New York, there’s a gay “post 9/11” support group they could have dragged him to. He really seems to need it. His attitude toward food was horrid - he only eats unrecognizable meats like hot dogs and burgers? No veggies? His reaction to Ted’s query about mussels was enlightening as to his psychology - he tried to crawl into a closet and started repeating “chewy chewy chewy…” ---

When he was walking around the apartment in his undershirt, all I kept thinking was “Why didn’t Kyan notice the fur?”. ---

Has no one else considered maybe just renaming the show ‘Queer Eye’? :eek: Then the gay guys, straight girls, and even the oft-neglected gay girls of the world could have their living spaces remade. ---

Oy! He was a whiny little baby. I’ve got to stop doing that tapping thing with my fingers when I’m angry or impatient. It looks really bitchy. I can’t wait until they do “Queer Eye for the Bi-Guy”, “Queer Eye for the Bi-Curious Chick”, and–best of all (based on stereotypes, anyway)–“Queer Eye for the Gay Gal”. ---

I think the show has come very close to running its course in the usual set-up, but a change to “The Fab Five” or whatever and some “let’s get out of metro NYC” episodes will give it some new life. OTOH, if ratings continue slipping the more we’ll see of the bare flesh of Otto’s Sweet Sweet Kyan™, so it’s win-win. (I wonder why Jai never bares more than his arms and legs? He went shirtless in a _Vanity Fair_ piece some while back but never on the show.) ---

Well, they apparently ARE intending to do Texas (DFW area) at some point in the near future. So that’ll be a variation, and maybe a chance to have a bit more give-and-take and contrasting of worldviews (though they did seek out the more mainstreamish of the big Texas cities). Really there’s only so much you can do with the concept, specially as more people become familiar with the idea. Earlier this year they had a whole month of people somehow linked to public performance (DJ, skater, playwright, comedian), but ever since they’ve had mostly ho-hum episodes that elicited little notice. ---

He was shirtless during his dance floor number in the music video for “Things Just Keep Getting Better”, the _Queer Eye_ theme song. In the making-of show for that video, he said that he wasn’t that eager to do it because he’s got a skinny torso.
