I’ve been using Audacity to record songs on my computer with no problems for a long time. But I installed it on my friend’s laptop and now there’s a major problem: when we record a new track, after I hit STOP to stop the recording, the track (the gray portion) is automatically shifted over to the left (back in time,) making it totally out of alignment with the previously-recorded track. It’s possible to manually shift it, but this is inaccurate and tricky.

This does not happen on my computer, only on this laptop. What can I do?
