Hmm. All I can see is that some doctors say to wear boxer shorts to keep the scrotum temperature cooler for sperm production (in cases of infertility).

Is there an existing problem, **Leechlord**?

No existing porb, she said that with boxer everything is loose but in normal underwear it’s not, and too loose might hurt later in the future

The only problem I have with boxers is that I keep falling out the hole in the front. But that only occurs when I’m not wearing anything over them (which is usually only when I alone at home–my coworkers frown on my not wearing pants at work).

I’ve been wearing boxers for 5 years and I never had a problem stemming from a loose penis [nsert joke here]. I’m not a jogger, so it doesn’t go flopping all over the place.

Men have gone centuries without tight-fitting breeches. I would think if this caused a problem, it would be common knowledge. I think your mother is simply mistaken.

I’m sorry I just can’t picture this.

[Mom]Don’t wear boxers, dear. It’s not good for your dick.[/mom]

I’ve been wearing boxers for years. I can’t see how the tightness of the tighty-whities could be good for Big Jim and the Twins.

Wearing briefs or a jockstrap during sports has always been a good idea, especially sports involving a lot of, um, bouncing. Unless you’ve got a hernia already, I doubt it makes a lot of difference, though.

Off the topic, has anyone else noticed that underwear seems to alternate generations? As a lad, I thought of boxers as “old people” underwear – I was very surprised to get into my first gym class and see that some students wore them, and insisted on wearing them even under their gym shorts. I still wear briefs (expensive and brightly colored designer briefs, but briefs nonetheless), and I am bemused to hear or read people disparaging briefs and calling them “old men’s underwear”; I’m still in my 30s, fer cryin’ out loud!
