Yeah. I’m one of the ones missing in action. I’m on vacation, and mostly not on-line. I’m not the only moderator less-than-usually-available.

I do want to add, I did talk about my experience with harassment and abuse in that thread, but I wasn’t making misandrist comments so I don’t really think his comments were aimed at me, but who knows what he was really thinking. I think he was mostly mad about Reddit.

I think that ideally the thread should have been left open but monitored by the mods, with warnings, thread bans, etc. handed out as needed. But with the limitations of the available moderators, I understand why that might not have been feasible.

Since I was the one who started this one, I certainly hope that things are going better. I also may have been naively assuming that all mods were omniscient and omnipotent

FWIW, I don’t have the energy to make a good OP for a Great Debates thread on the subject, but I think such a thread could be interesting and illuminating. Holding folks to higher standards, and looking at both the interesting insights from the bear/man question and the shitty takes on the question, could make for a better thread than the one we had. Anyone up for starting it?
