[Long Island Iced Tea](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island_Iced_Tea). Partly because it’s delicious. Partly because despite being a “girly drink” it will fuck you up right quick. And mostly because I “discovered” this drink on my first trip to Vegas. On my last night there (first trip) I got blasted beyond belief on these while proceeding to do very well at the blackjack table. Went up about $500, finally couldn’t see straight, spilled a drink right on the dealer. The Pit Boss was apologetic - “Terribly sorry, sir. We must have filled your drink too full. :rolleyes:” “Why don’t you tip this nice lady and call it a night?” It was a great idea. I tossed the dealer a $25 chip, apologized like a madman, somehow managed to cash out and got back to my hotel room. The room I was sharing with my dad, who until that day never knew I ever drank. Hey, I was only 21. Still in college. I threw up more than I thought possible. I hugged the toilet all night. “Geez, Game, you are really sick.” “Yes father, I am.” I was still sick as a dog the morning following. Never slept. Just threw up, collapsed around the toilet, repeat. I had to fly back. Stupid pride kept me from the plane restroom. I just suffered in silence. That was probably the third closest I’ve ever wanted to be to dying. The in-flight movie was _A Beautiful Mind_. I’m sure it wasn’t a bad film, but to this day I still can’t see even a bit of it without feeling intense nausea. That flight might have been the longest four hours of my life. I was so afraid of vomiting on the innocent passengers to my left and right, but at the same time feeling SO SICK. Regardless, I still associate Long Islands with good times and winning at BlackJack. If I wasn’t, you know, male - and grown up - I’d still order them. As it is I stick to boring gins and tonic. ---

No, but the amaretto sours I drink are:). What about beer and similar drinks? I sure enjoy hard ciders, especially apple. I used to drink Smirnoff’s flavored malt drinks, but one coworker referred to them as “bitch beer”. If you’re thinking the most stereotypically feminine drink, light beers are high on the list. ---

Just came here to say Malibu rum is girly. That’s what I would order if I were pretending to be a girl. It seems that few ladies drink gin; I can’t begin to understand that. ---

Almost all of them, save anything apple or banana flavored. I especially like Lemon Drops, and the bf has recently introduced me to chocolate martinis. ---

Since when are Long Islands girly? To me, if anything, they’re in the same category as gin & tonic. Pretty much gender-neutral. Whiskey sour edges toward manly, but it’s not as manly as something like Scotch and soda (more old man manly) or whiskey neat. Amaretto sours, on the other hand, totally girly (and I used to drink these in college.) Nowadays, I don’t think there’s really any girly drinks I like, having a strong preference for bitter tastes. I’ll do a daiquiri on the rocks from time to time, but I’m not sure that’s particularly girly. Frozen strawberry daiquiri, yes. Plain daiquiri with ice? Not so much. Probably the only girly drinks I enjoy are cosmopolitans and the Long Island, if you classify the Long Island as girly. But you’re not likely to find me ordering any mixed drinks at bar anyway. And, if you are, it’ll be gin & tonic, scotch & soda, margarita on the rocks, or possibly a gin gimlet on a hot summer day. ---

You can’t find it in the US, and where it’s found it’s a man’s drink, but I think in the US, if you ordered it you would get odd looks: Found it in South Africa - Ginger Squared, a shot of ginger brandy topped with ginger beer. [and by the way, they don’t think much of mixed drinks in general, consider most American and British mixed drinks pretty overmuch, even martinis. ---

I don’t really like alcohol, so on the rare occasions I choose to drink it, I like it masked with the girly stuff. Daquiris are great, especially strawberry and banana. Don’t really care for margaritas. Mudslides are girly, right? ---

I think the rule is that if a mixed drink is mixed so as to hide the fact that there’s alcohol in the mix, it’s a girly drink. If you’re not sure from the name whether something is a dessert or a drink, it’s definitely a girly drink. Even more so if you still can’t tell once the drink is in front of you.
