One day after 2nd grade summer camp, our son dragged his “girlfriend” over to introduce us. She was one of the counselors, maybe 16 or so, and looked pretty embarrassed… that allowed us to kind of hit the ground running, so to speak.

When he was 14, and in the SCA, he figured out that if he started going to dance classes, all the college-aged and older women would want to hang out with him. We kept them all apprised of his actual age. No shenanigans ensued, so far as we know, although one high-school teacher was kind of mortified when she found out he was her students’ age.

> It was good for him; not all kids are cookie cutter ready for relationships at the same age. If you love your kid, you support them and you find wonder and happiness in their growth. I don’t know your child, I won’t judge your parental decisions.
>
> As I type this, he’s in his Freshman year dorm with \*\*a complete and thorough understanding of birth control and how visible / verifiable birth control must be used every single time without exception, without excuses. \*\*
> He’s in an extremely competitive program and surrounded by students who have just as much to lose from as he does. I think he’s happy and I think he’ll find friends while cultivating relationships there.
>
> He’s my kid, I love him, and I’m perfectly happy with how he’s grown. I’m happy, he’s happy, our family is happy… and for us, that’s a good thing.

No arguments with the above, especially the bolded part. (FWIW, the bolded part is true of our son as well, and I have evidence I won’t share here that the message has been well received and implemented.)

> Yeah, I misunderstood, that’s completely normal.

We have no extra rooms, sorry. And yeah, that GF had wasn’t happy living with either of her parents and was looking for a place to crash with free room & board for a few years. Nuh-uh. Get lost before I spray you with the water bottle.

PS- Grandpa may be a nice title, but… You First.

When my son was thirteenish he came to me with his cellphone acting embarrased/serious. A girl in his class had sent him a picture.

I looked, and sure enough there was a topless shot of a thirteen year old girl. I was flustered. What do you do? Delete the pic, call my lawyer for advice, talk to the school, call her parents, what?

Then my son started laughing. He had taken the picture of a chubby _male_ classmate’s man-boobs (boy-boobs?). Who said parenting was easy?

> My older son is very good-looking and matured early. At 14, he was 6’5" and his voice had deepened completely to the resonant baritone it is today. He was very much a boy in a man’s body. There was a woman on his paper route who had started inviting him into the house when he went to collect, offering him cookies or ice cream, sitting him down on her sofa, sitting close to him while wearing something very revealing like a negligee or see-through blouse. She hadn’t touched him…yet, but that would probably have happened before much longer.
>
> He told my husband about it and my husband came to me and asked what we should do. I told him there was no ‘we’ about it, this was a woman-to-woman conversation.
>
> I went to her home, knocked on her door, introduced myself and invited myself in. I told her calmly and firmly that I knew exactly what she was up to with my 14-year old son and that I was having no part of it. If she made one more move towards him, no matter how subtle, I would be informing the police. I stood up before she could formulate a reply, thanked her and left. We never had another problem.

What do you think this woman was after? Surely she doesnt think a 14 year old would be some great lover she would have fabulous orgasms with does she? Does she think he would make a good husband?

Is she just a pedophile? (probably not since you say he looks like an adult)

Is it a thrill of having some young boy lusting after her?

Does she like the vulnerable type?

I would guess mostly she was looking for validation that she was still attractive to young men and attention she was not getting from anywhere else.

_Excellent_ prank. The boy has talent.

Not a Mother, but the legal guardian of several teenage boys. All potential social friends or hook ups are told as soon as possible that any questionable photographs or texts or letters will be turned over to the family’s lawyers who will then be handing said material over to the police. That eliminates most questionable behavior.

😃 This kid being yours makes perfect sense. Good one.
