Curiously, I’ve smoked for decades and at least every couple of months a coworker will looked shocked and give me the “I didn’t know you smoked!” line. We work in a factory where smoking occured during the entire day, not just break periods, for almost the entire 13 years I’ve worked there. (That finally changed last year, but c’mon, you’ve worked with me for twelve years and didn’t realize I smoke?!) Apparently, we’ve switched some sort of smoker appearance issue, want yours back? ---

Huh. I was at the bus stop the other night, and some kid was trying to bum smokes off of everyone waiting there. One guy mused that someone should invent a cigarette vending machine that only dispenses single cigarettes, for maybe 50 cents-they’d probably make a fortune. ---

I would like to say that I always refuse to give my cigarettes out if I get asked by a complete stranger. Note that it is only when I’m asked by a complete stranger. Serious, if you were in a class with me my freshman year of college and mention that, I’d give ya one. If you just say “hey guy, can I have one” - nah. It’s just kind of wierd. I don’t bum cigarettes unless I’m close to the person though. A few friends on campus, a guy at work, or family…otherwise I buy my own… Brendon ---

I get asked for ciggarettes a lot. My response is “I do not smoke. Do I look stupid?” It’s the people who ask me when I’m walking down the street drinking coffee yet not smoking that annoy me. If I did smoke, that’s when I would be puffing away. ---
