So, I guess everyone should have to register in order to actually read anything here. And when registering they must supply their age. I don’t see any other method of finding the lowest common denominator were supposed to pander to. TubaDiva I start a thread that you could easily have ignored and am told to leave by an administrator. Great culture. Is there a protective all about swearing? Seems oathing is honornable and scacred and must be defended at all costs. Pointless stupid in contexts like your swear above or NearBeer’s AH reference. ---

**Yamen** : There are polite ways of expressing a point. Insulting people is not among them. I’m sorry you don’t approve of foul language. Either get over it or avoid it. And FTR, most of the words used in this thread were in no sense “oaths.” Nor were they profane. Obscene, yes. Scatological and sexual, certainly. “By G\*d, you’re right” is an an example of an oath, or “swearing.” “Jes\*s in a minibus” is an example of a profanity. “F\*ck a duck” is obscenity. “Sh\*t on a shingle” is vulgarity. Doncha love it: A person says he’s leaving, he’s not gonna post here any more… and someone says “Good riddance”… and the person responds? and says, OK, this time, he’s leaving, really, and not coming back… and someone else says, “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,”… and he responds to THAT.
