I think running an adoption that way would be wrong, but the First Amendment doesn’t come into play here. It keeps the government from interfering with the kids’ religious exercise, but doesn’t mean adoption agencies can’t run their business as they see fit - at least, like **Miller** said, if they aren’t taking federal money.

I’m unclear on how this differs from biological parents. Yeah, I guess in the case of adoption the state gets the luxury to choose and try for an optimal match, but who knows what will cause a kid to get teased later? I got teased because my mom wears only skirts, never pants. And we didn’t always have a car and we didn’t have a TV.
