Let’s say you meet three new persons whose gender, personality, physiognomy, intellect, and so forth are all what you find attractive. One is noticeably taller than you; one is about your height; and one is noticably shorter. Which of the three are you most likely to be attracted to? Poll in a moment; results will be public. ---

On the whole, the more petite the better I think. Brings out all those protective, caveman instincts. ---

It would entirely depend on my mood. I’ve been attracted to guys anywhere from just over 5 foot tall to 6’5" or more. ---

\*\*It’s been 8 minutes. Where’s the poll? I don’t have all day. Anyway, I’m 6 ft. tall, so the vast majority of women I meet are shorter than I am, although in heels women can gain a few inches easily. I haven’t noticed that I care about height much. I don’t think I notice it that much unless someone is well above or under average. Once I did wonder aloud why tall women seemed to wear very high heels (I think its the heels that I notice), and a woman told me that tall women want to find very tall men, taller than they were in heels. That was one woman’s opinion, but there does seem to be a cultural attitude that a man should be taller than a woman in a relationship. A little off track, but someone claimed that women selecting their mates will form a mental picture of the two of them together, while men will picture the woman alone, usually wearing less clothes. ---

I’ve had a crush on a man who was shorter than me (I’m 5’4"), and on a man who was 6’7". I think that covers the whole range of heights I’m likely to see. ---

Yes, but I was wondering about trends you see. I tend to be more consistantly attracted to men close to my height. I’ve dated nice men who were considerably taller & shorter, but all the ones I’ve been really, really attracted to were no taller than 5’8" (I’m about 5’6"). ---

I’m 6’6"…I can count the number of women I’ve met that are my height or taller on about 2 fingers. ---

I’m 6’0". I’m most attracted to short women - around 5’2". My wife’s 5’6" though. ---

I voted that it didn’t matter, because in the range of 4 whole boyfriends I’ve ever had, 1 was shorter than me (only by an inch or so) one was almost exactly my height, one was about 5 inches taller (we matched heights when I wore heels) and my husband is 10 inches taller. That said, since my \*husband \*is the 10 inches taller one, maybe it DOES matter! I am one of those “women as chin-rests” and it works out quite nicely from the other end too. Perfect height to snuggle into chest and neck area while standing or sleeping. Makes me all feel protected and secure. ---

I’m pretty darn short, 5’ 2 ish. There aren’t many guys shorter than me, and I wouldn’t be likely to find them terribly attractive, but I find dating really tall guys awkward, too. My husband is 5’7", and perfect. ---

It’s pretty much a non-issue to me, but all things being equal, I think I’m a little more attracted to taller women. I like the long, sleek look. ---

My boyfriend is just slightly taller than my 5’2". He says he’s 5’8" but I’m not sure he’s quite that tall. I love it. Perfect smooching height. It would be nice if I didn’t outweigh him, though. ---

I’m 6’1", so most women are shorter than me, anyway. I wouldn’t rule anyone out, because there are other factors that matter more. However, I would prefer someone not _too_ much shorter or taller than I am. ---

I hate these polls because I’ve been 5’8" since I was about 12 and when I read men’s responses about how tiny women make them feel like he-men I feel like a big ol’ unattractive klunker. (Until I look in the mirror and realize no! I’m not!) I prefer taller, but I’d be happy with someone around my height, too. Shorter is a problem for me. I know saying that makes short men feel the way I feel when tall men like short women, but that’s the thing. We like what we like. ---
