The OP were questions that I have. I am not going to argue people’s answers in this folder, if I were interested in debating people’s answers, I would have posted in Great Debates. I did not. I asked for people’s input, they gave it, what else do you expect of me? To bicker back and forth with posters about people’s answers? To point out their join date? To refer to them as a troll? To truncate one’s questions as to blur its meaning? To make a bunch of snide remarks without addressing the OP at all? I won’t do that. That’s not my style. Sorry.

White people are not one giant hive mind. There are plenty non-white folks who are judgmental about welfare and abortion. I don’t even understand your link between white people and fixing roads or sending money to other countries. You just set up all kinds of racist stereotypes with these assumptions about white people.
I’m a single (white) mom on welfare/food stamps. I’ve had an abortion. I have no say in where our tax dollars go (despite this mystical ability to vote that seems to be available to people of ALL skin colors in the US). I think if you say you’re white, you’re white. I don’t care if you’re just one-fourth white or lily white. It doesn’t matter to me. It shouldn’t matter period. Our own president decided what to call himself. He has one black and one white parent but he associates more with being black, and that’s fine. If he called himself white or mixed that would be fine too. The love of my life is Mexican and prefers to be called brown. I thought he looked white personally but he does not, and that is fine too.
I don’t think one way or another about Puerto Rico, to be honest. I have enough on my plate worrying about immigration reform and the fact that people are still freaking out about “Illegals” when deportations are higher than they’ve ever been and immigration has fallen even more. That love of my life was deported when the sensible thing would have been to grant him a green card and let him continue to work his labor job and bring in an income and pay taxes like he did for almost 20 years before ICE shipped him back to Mexico, a place he knows little about after being in the US most of his life.

Your OP is laden with questions that rely on acceptance of some pretty contentious assumptions. To be sure, you do provide a few data points that you imply support the validity of those assumptions (or perhaps I should say you imply that they establish their validity), but you are clearly demanding that their truth be taken as givens, and the questions approached from that baseline. The generalizations in many of them are pretty provocative. Under the circumstances, I think it’s not unreasonable to expect of you some display of your bona fides, to show that provocation is not you primary goal in posting this OP.

What I see a government that was and still is principally white, a government that does not fund its roads, a government that does not adequately fund the arts and sciences or education, and a government that can’t have annum without the government collapsing due to selfishly not paying its bills. I see a populace that is principally white that vote in people who can’t even do the People’s business. So yeah, I think white people own the roads (and the voting booth, too). How literal you choose to take the word “own” is, of course, up to you.
