To contrast with [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=706674)

Does anyone besides me have any questions that they have been hoping for years someone would ask to GQ so they could rush in and show how smart they were by providing the perfect answer, but which unfortunately no one has bothered to ask?

Here’s mine:

Q: Why to mirrors reverse everything left to right instead of reversing things up and down.

A: It has to do with the fact that when turning things towards a mirror we tend to rotate around the z-axis that keeps the top and bottom the same. If instead we turned things towards a mirror end over end we would find that the mirror retained the left/right orientation but now reversed things up/down. Go take a book to a mirror and try it.

Any one else have knowledge they are dying to share if only someone would ask?
