By now you have probably signed the card. Hope you did better than I did a few years ago: My first day at work at a large Hollywood film studio, a HUGE card went around for the head of the legal department. I cleverly wrote Happy Birthday in three languages, signed it and passed it on. Half an hour later, three attorneys came over and asked me if I had written the birthday wishes on the card (which had by then been signed by over 100 people). “Yes.” I said. “It’s not his birthday. He just got married.” Sure enough, if I had been clever enough to look at the front of the damn card, I would have seen the picture of a big ol’ wedding cake. They took a big bottle of white out and globbed it over my birthday greeting - and my name. A truly wonderful moment in my (short-lived)Hollywood career. ---
