Wife asked me to order one. She said a bunch of them came up when she looked up “music stand” on Amazon. Just that–“music stand.” Well, when I look that up I find only music stands that are not usable with a piano. If I ask her a bunch of questions about this she will get frustrated and do it herself and secretly think I’m an incompetent child. (Hi everybody. One of those mornings.) So please help this incompetent child make it look look like he did something all by himself like. She’s expecting something that looks like the one from her childhood, which she described as looking like a “brass lyre.” Anything? Anything? ---

I’d suggest you call around to piano stores - they might be able to suggest something. Never had a baby grand - always uprights. Surprised to hear they do not have some kind of music stand built in. ---

Try using the terms “rest,” “rack” or “desk” instead of “stand.” A stand indicates standing on its own, I believe. You might also want to throw in the word “replacement” as I believe it should be a standard part that comes with the piano. ---

I searched Amazon for “table-top music stand” under their “Home & Kitchen” category . . . didn’t find any brass ones, but quite a few wood options. ---

They do, but on ours at least, you have to have the piano open to have the stand up, and we are keeping ours closed because there are nine heartbeats in our house. ---

Dang there are some great options here! I already bought a really cheap one that is quite ugly but we may revisit some of the above options. Thank you everyone!
