# Quick-need remedy for my burnt tongue!

OW OW OW OW OW!!! I burnt my tongue eating my too-hot soup and now it is all bumpy and hurts like hell!! Help a sister out?!?!?

Ooooh! I feel for you. You don’t have any sliced cucumber laying around, do you? Laying a slice on your tongue might help soothe it. A used, cooled tea bag might help - the tannins are good for soothing ouchy redness.

Ummm…yogurt? Sliced grapes? Think cool things.

Whatever you do, do not put aloe on your tongue. It’s only fair as a burn soother, but it’s a fantastic laxative!

The only remedy I know for that is cool water and time. My tastebuds are usually shot for a couple days after one of those.

I once ran up to my mom, burned tongue flapping in the breeze, asking what I could do. She replied:

“Don’t burn your tongue, stupid.”

Sweet. That’s what she was.
