The Giants beat the Falcons today 24-2. AIUI, you get six points for a touchdown, and one point more if you kick the ball through the uprights. You get three points for a field goal. You can get two points if you make an extra touchdown instead of kicking for one extra point. So you can score 3, 6, 7, or 8 points. How did the Falcons get two points? ---

So in fantasy scoring, when calculating points allowed for a defense, are safeties included in the total? Or did New York’s defense shut out Atlanta, fantasy wise? ---

I think most fantasy sites are sophisticated enough to figure out points allowed by the D - not just look at the final score - so yes, fantasywise, NY Defense scored a shutout. I noticed something interesting Yahoo does in their fantasy scoring: If the defense my fantasy defense is playing scores a touchdown - those points aren’t counted against my D. Ok so far. But the extrapoint is, so my D just lost a shutout (which usually comes with a bonus) because they “allowed” an extra point. ---

So it’s really going against your Special Teams blocking unit. Weird quirk but logical.
