We were talking about this year’s Glastonbury at lunch and this cropped up - been in my head ever since. I doubt many here know it. _Hard Love_ by Need to Breathe. It’s supposed to be a Christian song, but I have yet to discern any Scripture, and it paraphrases atheist philosopher Nietzsche: “…What don’t kill ya makes ya stronger…” I hate that song, and I haven’t heard it on the radio in 3 or 4 days, but it is still here, making me nuts. ---

I’ve been listening lately to Peter Stampfel’s _Dook of the Beatniks_ (yeah, I listen to obscure aging hipster shit, sorry) and EVERYTHING ON THE ALBUM is a damn earworm. I’m sick of waking up at 4AM with “Oomalooma Bessie Bessie” running through my head. The title cut is even worse, because the lyrics are so cool. _I taught Allen Ginsberg how to write a poem I was on the road when Kerouac lived at home I ride harder, and faster, than Cassady can And like Popeye, I live in a garbage can…_ ---

I hesitate to call it an ear worm, because I really like it, but I cannot get this song out of my head.
