I’m not sure how my random net surfing even brought me to this page (I was looking for information on traffic accidents on the Big Island) but somehow I found a set of mug shots from bookings in Washington County, Utah. Scroll through the pics to see remarkably odd, hopeless, down-on-their-luck, disreputable, and peculiar faces. A _few_ of the people look normal, but most of them look like people you do NOT want anywhere near you. I suppose any set of mug shots would produce the same overall effect, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen a series of them. If you arrested people randomly out on the street their mugshots wouldn’t look much different. It’s no fun getting arrested, they don’t let you fix your hair or makeup, they haven’t made it comfortable for you for who knows how long before they shoot the picture. Pictures of all the dopers under those circumstances wouldn’t look much different except for many of them looking a lot older. ---

Huh. SODIQ ABIODUN AGBAOKU is kind of impressive. Was he “released from custody”, or did he just…_disappear?!?_ Just how the hell many firearms did BRANDON WARD STRATTON have anyway? MICHELLE MARIE WETZEL had one hell of a week. ---

The best mug shot (in the sense of making the subject actually look good) was of [former House majority leader Tom Delay](http://www.thesmokinggun.com/file/tom-delay-mug-shot), who made it practically a campaign photo. (He was ultimately acquitted, by the way.) ---

This thread is basically the same reaction I had to reviewing my parent’s high school yearbooks, especially dad’s. With apologies to all my dad’s classmates/homies, Farnam, NE High School in the mid-30’s was a real Dick Tracy’s Rogues Gallery or catalog of Gary Larsen character sketches. I couldn’t believe all the cartoonishly simian foreheads, unibrows, beady eyes, overbites…incredible. When you come upon a page with someone relatively good-looking in comparison, you realize they must have been perceived as some sort of god in that small town. Now I should go look at my HS yearbooks and see if I have the same reaction. ---

Huh, just 2 black men, 2 black women, and maybe a dozen Hispanics or possibly Native Americans. But I guess in a county of 90,354 people, 90% white, 0.4% black, 1.4% Hispanic, and 6.6% Native American, that’s probably just about right. ---
