It’s still two names from two different original sources. The only one that varies from that is Johns Hopkins, named after… Mr. Johns Hopkins.

Other have alluded to it in my scrolling down, but my answer was Johns Hopkins was a single person, not two people. And yes, “Johns” was his first name.
