There’s an answer list?
I’ll admit I occasionally use [crosswordsolver.org](http://crosswordsolver.org), but its word list seems to be from a pretty thorough dictionary, so I have to filter the results to words that I think are common enough to be possible answers.

Yes, probably several of them I would imagine. I doubt it would be of any help in figuring out the words in a current puzzle, as it’s just a list of what the answers were on previous days. I just check it once in awhile if I’m curious about when or how often a word has been used before.

It wouldn’t be terribly hard to write a regular expression app that would search the answer list for words matching particular patterns. It could be a problem if there’s a word that had never been used before.

Another of thos puzzles I like where solving one word also gives useful info for another. PURSE gave me the R for CARRY, otherwise could have been CRAZY.
Last word could have been BULLY, BULKY, or GULLY (and maybe others), so I went with BULKY to get the most info.

Right, but it probably wouldn’t be worthwhile since quordle uses pretty much every 5 letter word and even some slang, foreign and non-words 😆

I don’t think it uses nearly all the 5-letter English words. When I use crosswordsolver I see lots of words I’ve never seen nor heard before. There cold be a dozen valid answers, but only one that I think is common enough to be in quordle.
I’ve seen foreign words, but they’re always something that is common enough for English speakers to recognize, like VOILA.
I think we’re also somewhat indoctrinated by the Scrabble rules to not use proper nouns. Sometimes it’ll be something like PETER, which has a common usage like “peter out”. And I was caught out a bit the first few times I saw Greek letters, like GAMMA and OMEGA.

Right, I meant to say common 5 letter words. Judging by the possibilities that come up on Scordle and Wordle Analyzer there are actually a LOT more words I don’t know than the ones I do. 😆

Sure is…we’ve had that one here too before. You may have looked it up already, but it’s a splashing sound or flourish on a letter (like in Calligraphy). Tricky word though.
