They went easy on us today. 🙂 I almost went with Dumpy, but I could see that I may not need it, so I just tried to solve. Didn’t get lucky with Chunk, but it helped a lot. I had Sluff and Chuff for both of those words too, but I decided to go for the MP. And I got lucky with Datum over Gamut…I know we’ve had Datum several times before, but I don’t think we’ve had Gamut before (not sure).

Survived a major trap tonight. Five possibilities with two guesses left. I came up with a good sleuth word, but if that had failed it would have been 50/50 on the last guess.

I didn’t get much info from my first two guesses. ALLOY, ANVIL, and BACON were all hopeful guesses that worked out.

I was really glad to get Liken vs. Liven correct, as I wasn’t seeing a sleuth word that’d cover both that one and the \_ROWN trap, which BEFOG thankfully helped with. I’m not a fan of Ralph for an answer word…they’ve used it before though.

Phew! What sleuth did you go with? Do you check the previous answer list? I do that and it really helps. I forgot about Jaunt though, but that’s been used. In hindsight, I should have gone with Gaunt before Daunt…I don’t think anyone ever uses that without the ‘ing’ or ‘ed’ ending. Someone said it wasn’t a viable word per the Wordle Bot, but who knows if it’d be used.

I had \_AUNT, with five possible answers. I used TIGHT as a sleuth word. That covered TAUNT, GAUNT, and HAUNT; 60% chance of a hit. If that had failed (40%), I had to choose 50/50 between JAUNT and VAUNT.
If I’m doing the probabilities right, that was a 20% chance of failing (half of 40%).
If there’s a better sleuth word with four of those letters (T would have to be first), I don’t see it.

Does anyone else play Quordle and Octordle in tandem? I place my first two guesses in each game. Then I’ll solve one Quordle and then two Octordles and repeat until finished. Then I’ll play the sequenced version of each. When I’m done with those, I’ll play the rescue version, where I’m Rambo guiding a group of doofuses out of the jungle (on Mondays, I do the Bonus “Challenge” Quordle in tandem with the rescue Octordle).
The doofuses rarely make use of all their vowels in their first four moves (and when they do, they always neglect to play Y and/or W). I’d estimate I have about a 75% success rate with these _tourists_.

After completing quordle, it gives me an option to copy the results to my clipboard. Do that, then create a reply in this thread, and paste the result (ctrl-v).

No _emphasized text_Octordle? I do Wordle after I finish Word Hurdle five-letter, six-letter, and Phrazle (those three refresh twice daily), then Quordle/Octordle, then Connections.
I just now finished my first Sedecordle, and tbh, it doesn’t feel like that much of a challenge. Maybe the sequential version will.

No octordle for me. No particular reason, but I think sedecordle was the first multi-word version that I tried, so maybe I still play out of habit. It’s not super-tough, but I don’t win every time.
There was a 64-word version that I tried a few times.

Is there some rule that all letters can’t be used?
I sometimes check at the end of sedecordle. I’ve seen it use 24 letters across the 16 words.

I used to…I played all of the Octordles. I liked the rescue one…shook things up from the same ol’ start words and made for a bit more of a challenge.
I currently play Wordle, Quordle and Sequence, and Connections. And I just started playing Circuits Game (a word connection game) and Waffle Game (Wordle-like game), which I just discovered recently.

Yeah, unfortunately there isn’t one, but at least you can narrow things down with a sleuth word, and better if you can find one that leaves the least amount of words left like you did with TIGHT. I’ve had to use two sleuth words in one game before…I’d rather not, but sometimes it’s necessary.
