There was plenty of luck involved. AGING could have been APING. Had I played my usual SLIMY, that wouldn’t have been any help. Ordinarily, I’d have played APING, but I figured that may have been uncommon enough to not be in their list of possible answers.
I found another variant on the game with a bit of extra challenge: Qwordle. This time, the “Q” is for “quantum”. The puzzle uses two 5-letter words, with no letters in common between them, and you get six tries to guess either one of them.
The catch is that there’s only one answer blank, because the two words are entangled. Your guess is checked against both simultaneously. It follow the usual color convention: yellow letters are present, but in the wrong place, and green letters are in the right place. However, it does not indicate which word a letter is present in; instead, if your guess contains letters from both words, all the matching letters are half-filled with either yellow or green. (If all your matching letters are from a single word, the whole letter block is colored in.
It took me 6 guesses today, even though all 5 letters in my first guess were hits. Any fellow word nerds want to take a crack at it?

@chiliwillybing I was thinking…what the heck is a Talcy (incorrectly pronouncing it tall-cee), so I looked it up. I think you were just checking letters, but wouldn’t that be just the kind of word they’d go with?
That did my head in - lol. I wasn’t sure I was understanding it correctly, but I got there in any case. It was fun for something different…thanks for letting us know about it.

Possibly helpful hint if you ever want to give it another go: as far as I can tell, it never uses duplicate letters, either within a word or across the two words. (Also, the two words are usually related in some way, though the connection may be distant or really obscure, as it is in this case. If you’re caught between two possible words, making a short list of what the other word could be may point you in the right direction.)

I tried and failed. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was supposed to be doing, but I think I get it now. It varies from wordle in that one of today’s words was a plural ( +s) word, that messed me up.
Nice! I did too but I only had two words to choose from and one was unlikely, so easy peasy for me today.
