Oh, so they are a woodpecker too. It’s been a long time since I looked them up. I love Woodpeckers, we have a lot of woods and so see quite a few different types here. The Pileateds are amazing, such big, beautiful, rowdy birds, they even scare my dogs, LOL, and they are not normally afraid of anything.

This should have been a 7…I knew it was Quiet, and that’s what I was typing in, or so I thought - just was clicking the letters too fast. And then I was going to go with Angry, because that’s how I was feeling - lol, but I changed to Marry. Dagnabbit!

Had to go with a sleuth word (Bumpy) for that mega trap, and then guessed wrong between the two words left, dang it. But both Bumpy and Folio helped solve the last two words (Loopy was even solved for me - lol), so that was good at least.
LOL at Whump being allowed as a word.

Twin scores and no clocks for the both of us!
Did you notice the 8 in #608 up top was rotating around and around?
I see and hear woodpeckers now and again in the large woodsy nature park I take my dog to. I actually caught one on video going to town on a tree - he was a Pileated Woodpecker…just like Woody Woodpecker - lol.
I can imagine if you have dogs that bark at knocking noises, and you get them around your house a lot, it’d be quite the ruckus - lol. What kind of dogs do you have, by the way?
Not so much the knocking noise, which the dogs are used to but the Pileated’s calls. Occasionally we’ll get four or 5 of them chasing each other through the trees in what I assume is some kind of territorial dispute, while using these raucous, ear piercing, jungle sounding cries. The dogs are like what the heck?? LOL I have GSDs, what is your pup?

Triple 7s today, not as good as triple 6s, but I’ll take it
I did notice the 8 flipping over, wonder what that is about? It felt like I was being timed.
Mine is a GSD too! Well, she’s half GSD…she also has BC, Pittie, and a smidge of English Bulldog (you’d never guess the bulldog…she’s the size of a GSD & BC, and looks like a mix of those two). You’d think she’d be a super smart dog with those breeds, but she seems to pull from her English Bulldog’s one brain cell some of the time.

Summary
Whenever I get a word on 2, it throws my equilibrium off . Crony seemed a good enough word to replace “Choir”, but it didn’t help as much as I’d hoped, it did a little though with the R and N. I wanted to get the U and I in next, and I saw Guile, though I wasn’t expecting it to be right, so that was a nice surprise! I got stuck in the trap though.
Who says Gazer? Gamer yes, which is why I went first with that one, and then it was a toss-up between Gaper and Gazer, neither of which I feel are “legit” words (I actually looked both of them up before deciding, and they are both in Websters, but Gaper is getting the red squiggly line in here).

5 guesses to get a word…ugh, which ultimately cost me the game. Much like Gazer, I feel the same way about Taker (and Taxer too), where Taper and Tamer are common words. I would have gone with a sleuth word, but I really didn’t think there’d be that many of them, and then it was too late.
I realized later that they were just being playful - 8 words in Octordle, plus the name means 8. And then I remembered way back when it was game #88, they were both spinning then, and every single answer was “eight”. (it wasn’t April Fool’s day…the game creator was just having fun with it).
That’s cool you have a GSD too! My girls are usually too smart for their own good, but they definitely have their dumb-dumb moments too
Doh! I wasn’t even thinking of the OCTordle connection That’s funny about game #88, love it!
I totally agree with you on gazer and taker, while technically they are words, no one actually uses them.
