If you’ll pardon the hi-jack back to the OP: Victoria, if you’re still lurking, there is a reason for the offensive “if you must” remark. Once upon a time, people witnessed wherever they felt like it. They’d go into General Questions and ask loaded questions that ended up in fights. The problem is, there are lots of different people on the MB from a lot of different backgrounds and a lot of different faiths (or, obviously, no faith at all). Some people would be offended by these threads, and a lot were sick and tired of seeing them at all. So it was decided to restrict them to the Great Debates forum so that those who wished to avoid them could, and so that those who disagreed with a poster’s point of view could discuss and debate it. So when a person does witness here, they’d better be prepared for a little debate, and they’re debating style had better consist of more than, “The Bible told me so, so you’re going to Hell.” Especially in the case of your 38 prophecies. People have been trying to predict the Jesus’ return since the day he left (see [A Brief History of the Apocalypse](http://members.home.net/criskity/)) and extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence. Just saying a prophecy was fulfilled without saying when and where it happened or who told you it has happened isn’t going to convince anyone. I read a quote once that went along the lines of “You must get to a person through their religion, not yours.” When you’re dealing with people who value facts, reason, solid proof, and a sense of humor, you’re going to have to deal with them on their terms if you expect to win them over. Threats of hellfire and damnation ain’t gonna do it. (That reminds me of a T-shirt I saw once, with a dog at a pulpit in front of a canine congregation, preaching, "And the Lord said unto them, “Bad dog! Bad!” The caption read, Hellfire and Dalmations. ## Gator and Lauralee - you’re both sort of right. Once all of the hulabaloo started I did go to the LBMB, just to poke around. I didn’t stay very long as I was pressed for time. And, as you can imagine, most of the conversations going on over there were about _this_ board. So, while I did visit the MB technically, I probably didn’t get a complete picture of the usual goings on. OK, we have enough youth. How about a fountain of smart. =^…^= ---
