I don’t particularly want to fight the whole war again, but surly you realize that you are spinning here just as much as the other side was? And you also, given hindsight, know what happened to quite a few of those ‘utterly corrupt and rotten SVietnamese’ types when the tanks rolled into the south, right? How are those free elections working out these days?
And, regardless of spin, you also know that in fact Nixon DID get us out of Vietnam, where we left the Southerners to face the music. Or do you think that we really didn’t leave? It was in all of the papers in 1973…
You are certainly trying to put a lot of words in my mouth for one simple statement put in parentheses.

As I said, I don’t want to fight the whole war again…it was nasty enough the first time (though I was only a kid for most of it).
