Eh, I’m gonna cut **Rachel** some slack here. If we’re being honest with ourselves, I’m sure most of us have been so exasperated by our relatives to the point of having inappropriate thoughts that we wouldn’t ever say out loud. Much healthier to dump such thoughts anonymously into cyberspace than let them slip out in real life and then regret it. In fact, right in her OP she came right out and said she was venting and whining, and then people were taken aback when she did just that. Okay, whatever. It’s my understanding that Rach has had to deal with some serious shit in her life (and I’m not talking about crotch stink) and has earned her edgy attitude. Even if she comes off a bit harsh at times, she’s not hurting anybody here and usually has something relevant to say when she participates in a thread. I think I get where she’s coming from and I actually kind of like her style. ---

She did continue to date, and at age 88 told me the saga of how both David and Irving wanted to take her to the New Year’s Eve party at the Senior Center. She died at 94. After her death, we found some great old pictures of her, including bathing suit shots and one from the 1920’s in which she was wearing knickers and argyle socks and sitting on the back of some guy’s motorcycle. ---

I don’t often start by reading poster names, but most likely, when someone is just a judgmental idiot, I glance up and see her name. She’s clearly dealing with some major issues re: social skills, weight, maybe a bad past, etc. But her judgmental nature mixed with her incessant whining and the thought of her questionable hygiene skills, just aakkkkkghghhhhh… I can never forget the landlord thread with the accusations of homophobia against the landlord, and then the stinky bed thread, combined with her self-described lifestyle of 24/7 WoW in various places. She’s a total complete bitch, pretty much all the time, so far as i can tell… ---

Sorry I didn’t get back to this earlier. Okay, it’s not exactly hypocrisy that I’m calling her out on. More like, she herself might not be so stressed if she would [chill out](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=590970) and stop [nickel-and-diming](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=599690). She seems as unreasonable IRL as she is here, and I thought the first two replies in [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=624364) were spot on. **rachel** suggested taking it to the Pit, and I figured why not. ---

Ok - I think that’s a perfectly fair point to make. I thought you were going for the “turnabout’s fair play” angle in the OP, and I just didn’t really see the turnabout there - my bad. I agree that she is often (ok, usually) abrasive - but I’ve seen many posters who are worse than she is, much more often, and I didn’t feel her linked posts were **too** out of line. ---
