Several 1%'ers (Yes, they had the name before the OWS scum stole the idea) had a shoot-out in a Texas restaurant’s parking lot. The Mayor didn’t prevent the police from arresting everyone involved in the fighting. No CVS’s, or nursing homes, were looted, or burned. No molotov cocktails were throw at police.
Police showed up en masse and arrested 170 lawbreakers.

I’m going waaaaay out on a limb here, but I’m guessing he’ referring to the article linked to in the post he was quoting.
I don’t know how rich the populations are in these mostly farming-based communities, but my point was how differently they were characterized in the national media covering these disasters.
But, yeah, I’m sure there’s a stronger family network and that the local government isn’t completely racist assholes like in NOLA (unless it’s native Americans) and can reasonably function even in times of disaster.

Why have you suddenly decided they’re reliable sources of information and analysis?

I overacted because for years after Katrina, especially after hurricane Ike I had to listen to people in Houston compare their responses to losing power for a week and no ATMs or credit card readers and spotty working electricity in the city to New Orleans response to Katrina. It is a sore spot for me.

I believe I have seen debate over how the “one drop rule”(that any level of black ancestry means you are black) applies to Obama, and whether it is right he is called the first black president versus mixed race president etc.
Sorry, but you’re not the King of Language. In the US, almost every “black” person is part white, and the term is not meant to be an accurate description of someone’s genetics. but rather how a person self-identifies and is identified by society. On that measure, Obama is black.

What a bunch of fucking morons. Even if these gangs were white and not a variety of ethnicities, the white community is not siding with the gangs. White people aren’t throwing firebombs at police, white people aren’t looting stores, white people aren’t threatening to murder the police who shot the bikers.
